Unit 4 Section 3 : Order of operations
This section covers the order in which operations are carried out.
The two main methods taught for working out the order of operations are BODMAS and BIDMAS.
If more than one operation in a calculation has the same precedence, the operations are carried out from lefttoright.
Example Question
Calculate:
(a) (3 + 2) × 6  8
(b) 4 × 6 + 18 ÷ 2
(c) (17  2) ÷ 5 + 6
