Unit 13 Section 3 : Time and Money

In this section we consider problems that involve both time and money.
You will need to use your decimal arithmetic skills to answer the questions in this section.

Example Question

One day, Zoe works from 0930 until 1800. She is paid £5.20 per hour.

How much does she earn for her day's work?

From 0930 to 1800 is 8½ hours, so we need to work out 8.5 lots of £5.20.
If 520 × 85 is 44200 then 5.20 × 8.5 = 44.200.

Zoe earns £44.20 per day.
